In Poster Presentation 24 students participated out of which 4 students were from various engineering colleges

Nilesh (SREC) was awarded with cash prize of Rs.2500/- as 1st Runnerup

Vishnu (SREC) was awarded with cash prize of Rs.1500/- as 2nd Runnerup

The engineer’s day at SR engineering college was celebrated with unfathomable enthusiasm and glory in the civil department. The programme was arranged in the seminar hall where the eminent faculty members and students gathered and celebrated the day in unison. The celebration started with an introductory speech on Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya and his innumerable contributions to science and technology; His works and achievements were highlighted with intricate perfection which inspired many young souls.

Later, the HOD of the department, Mr. Venkat Reddy gave a speech on the hurdles and various hindrances overcame by the great Visveswaraya . He pointed out that the true meaning of life lies in pushing ourselves beyond the limit; a true champion not only overcomes a difficult task but wins over ambivalent prejudices and borders.

Many faculty members also expressed their views on engineering, science and creativity. They clearly portrayed that it is through hard work and resilience that a person can achieve anything, there are no shortcuts to win.

Finally, all faculty members were felicitated by the students with great applause and cheer.

A Series of guest lectures for two days i.e. on 3rd and 4th July 2015 for III year and IV year B. Tech students pertaining to “Introduction to Irrigation Projects in India – Opportunities”.

Prof.K.V Jaya Kumar, Deparment of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal delivered a talk on “Joys and Wonders of Civil Engineering”. This talk gave a insight to all the civil engineering students and made them that civil engineering branch was selected by choice not by chance. The talk highlighted the some of the olden marvelous structure and their importance wit application in civil engineering

As part of Civil Engineering Association Activities (CEA) Department of Civil Engineering has arranged a lecture by Dr. Ch. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor (Adhoc) Dept of Civil Engineering, Osmania University delivered an expert talk on “Remote Sensing and GIS Applications in Civil Engineering”. The lecture was highlighted the state of art of technologies in Civil Engineering in general and application of GIS and Remote sensing in particular. The students of Civil Engineering interacted with the expert and shared their views.

A National level technical symposium: ARTEMIS-2013

A National level technical symposium has been successfully organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and many students from outside and nearby college were this event. The main motto and aim of the ARTEMIS’13 was to have a platform for the civil engineering students to unleash their ingrained talent in presenting their papers and model making of the structures. In this aspect the SR Engineering College, Departmental Civil Engineering student’s prepared different type of models; one among such attracted models is the suspension bridge. Our students had participated in all India seminars on "Disaster- mitigation of floods and urban drainage issues" on Jan 6th and 7th held at Hyd, which was organized by IEI (Telangana state centers)
